This year, we have seen the devastating price paid by aid workers living and working in conflict zones.

This World Humanitarian Day, we honour humanitarians around the world and thank all who bravely risk their lives to deliver assistance & hope to people in crisis. #ActForHumanity

MAG employs over 6,000 staff who, through varied roles and in over 30 countries, are committed to their mission to make communities and land safe after war.

Some of our team shared their thoughts about what motivates them to do this work.

Olena, Ukraine

"I wanted to be useful to the country... This job tempers your spirit and checks your stress resistance: I never knew I was so strong. It’s hard physical work, but it’s worth the result."

Olena, deminer with MAG Ukraine.

Nayeli

“Working at MAG is a true honor for me. I am immensely proud of our commitment to making lives better and seeing our efforts have a meaningful impact in countries around the world. I also greatly admire the dedication of my small team here in Paraguay"

Nayeli, MAG Paraguay

Caren Zimbabwe

“What inspired me to join MAG was the desire to make a difference in communities that are disadvantaged. Like here in Mudzi, where people are living in fear of landmines and that some day they might lose their loves ones”

Caren, community liaison coordinator, Zimbabwe

Haniya Gaza

“I am a Palestinian and I have lived in Gaza my whole life. Right now, my colleagues are assisting with the safe passage of humanitarian convoys that are delivering essential food, medicine and fuel."
