Standards & Training Manager, Ukraine.

Permanent role

The salary package for this position is £83,880.80 GBP / approx.$108,650.80 USD including all allowances

About the Ukraine programme:

Since the Russian invasion of 24thFebruary 2022, Ukraine has been subjected to heavy artillery bombardment, missile, and air strikes, as well as the use of landmines and cluster munitions. The scale of the conflict and the use of high impact and indiscriminate weapons requires an urgent and extensive response. MAG responded to the crisis in 2022 and now employs nearly 300 staff in our Ukraine programme, in a range of operational and support/administrative activities, with further scale-up planned across 2025. The programme has a representation office in Kyiv, and operational offices in Mykolaiv (also covering accessible areas of Kherson) and in Kharkiv.

About the role:

The Standards and Training Manager (STM) will play a critical leadership role in MAG’s Ukraine operations by ensuring the consistent application of high operational standards and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. You will lead the training team and oversee the implementation of quality management systems across all field programs to ensure safety, efficiency, and compliance with international best practices.

Reporting to the Technical Operations Manager (TOM), a central focus of this role is leading the design, delivery, and oversight of technical training and the implementation of robust standards across all field operations. From operational management and equipment to technical competencies, the STM is responsible to ensure everything aligns with MAG Ukraine's Standard Operating Procedures and MAG's Global Technical Standards (GTS). The STM will also drive the development and rollout of a comprehensive Quality Management System (QMS) — ensuring safety, sharpening operational performance, and maximizing efficiency across our technical operations.

About you:

You’ll bring your proven technical expertise to the table and confidently lead MAG’s Standards and Training Team (STT), driving quality across all field operations. With a sharp focus on operational excellence, you’ll champion high standards and foster a culture of continuous improvement that keeps our teams safe and effective on the ground.

You should have experience working and living and working abroad, preferably in sensitive conflict or post-conflict settings, and possess the ability to prioritise work and meet deadlines, sometimes under pressure.
