Support our BBC Radio 4 Appeal: Help Get to Every Landmine Before a Child Does

Every day, 15 people are killed or injured by landmines, all too often, it’s a child’s footstep that triggers the blast. But with your help, we can find and destroy them before they destroy lives.

Rosamund Pike’s powerful appeal on BBC Radio 4 calls for urgent action to clear landmines. Donate now to help clear landmines for good.

Landmines are not an issue of the past.

Even when conflict has ended the suffering continues. In Angola, a country far from the headlines but where communities still live on the frontline, trapped by devastating landmines.

Decades after the end of conflict in Angola, families are still living in fear of landmines and unexploded bombs. Families in Moxico province, one of the poorest regions of Angola, are risking their lives to farm land riddled with landmines so they can feed their families. Children, innocent and unaware, run across fields that kill.

With your support, MAG deminers clear land and save lives.

Every day, MAG landmine clearing experts put on heavy protective gear and step into minefields. Recruited from local communities and trained to detect and safely remove landmines, they risk their lives to protect others.

Every landmine cleared is a life protected. But right now, too many remain. Stand with MAG today - donate to our BBC Radio 4 Appeal and help create a world where no child has to fear their next step

Meet Helena, she is a landmine destroying expert featured in the BBC Radio 4 Appeal. Every working day, Helena steps onto minefields densely packed with landmines.

Metre by metre, she uses her metal detector to listen out for the tell-tale beeps. She treads carefully - any slip could be fatal. She works tirelessly to clear deadly explosives, ensuring her daughter and others can walk safely again. Her courage is saving lives.

"I don't want my daughter, or any other child, to be the next victim of a landmine."

Every donation to our appeal helps save lives. Please donate and help us continue our vital work in Angola and beyond. Together, we can make a difference.
