MAG is seeking a qualified H&S professional , to join our Health, Safety, Security and Safeguarding Committee (HSC) as a co-opted member.
As a Co-opted Member of our HSC (a committee of MAG’s Board of Trustees), you will contribute to the oversight and strengthening of MAG’s health and safety arrangements, as part of HSC’s work.
This is a voluntary role with the opportunity to use your health and safety experience to advise and support the Trustees and senior staff of a leading global humanitarian organisation committed to conflict prevention and recovery, through the work of MAG’s HSC.
We recognise the valuable contribution that co-opted members make to the success of the organisation and our aim is for co-opted members to feel that the role they perform is rewarding and satisfying.
We are looking for someone who shares our vision of a safe future for women, men and children affected by violence, conflict and insecurity. You will have a thorough understanding of health and safety laws and regulations applicable to the NGO sector in the UK and overseas and have experience of advising and/or working with trustees and senior managers.

Location and details of work
The time commitment for this post includes four committee meetings a year. Meetings are hybrid, with some attendees in our Manchester office and others attending virtually. This is a three-year voluntary role, with the ability to serve a second three-year team of office provided the co-opted member meets the criteria for membership of the committee.
